In a rare gathering, President Donald Trump addresses the U.S. military commanders at Quantico, Virginia. The administration called U.S. military leaders from around the world back to the United States for an address by Secretary Pete Hegseth and President Trump. It was unusual move to have all the commanders travel from their far-flung posts and concentrate them all in one place. In his address, President Trump talks about renaming the Department of Defense to the Department of War (although Congress needs to approve the proposed change), discusses renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and how he loves his signature. Deep into his speech, he mentions using U.S. cities as training grounds for the military to fight "the enemy from within," a proposal that breaks sharply with precedent against using the military against U.S. citizens.
