Katherine Clerides, a member of the Cypriot parliament, discusses federalism in Cyprus. She begins by given an overview of Cyprus? history and then moves to questions. During the questioning session Clerides addresses the issues of ethnic differences, religious differences, conflict of each groups mother-countries, the possibility of a peaceful union between the northern and southern part of the island, bicommunical federalism on the island, the economics of the island, dialog between the two groups, possible solutions to the conflict, withdraw of Turkish troops, Cypriot cooperation, historical animosity between Greeks and Turks, the defense policy of the Republic of Cyprus, and Britain?s role in the island?s politics.
