Career public servant and former counselor to President Nixon focuses his discussion on the Nixon Presidency. He discusses his contact with Nixon during the Eisenhower Administration, the Nixon-Kennedy debates, and Nixon's preparations for his second run for the presidency. During the questioning time, the speaker also discusses his actions on the Council of Economic Advisers as compared to the practice of his successors and predecessors. He discusses the presidencies of Nixon, Ford, and Carter, addressing his relationship with them while he served on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and provides further insight concerning political attributes of President Nixon.
