Tuesday, July 27, 1993
{8:00PM} (EDT)
Event Details
John Redick is an associate professor at the University of Virginia Division of Continuing Education and as a consultant both for the Prospect Hill Foundation and the Nuclear Control Institute. Redick gives a broad global context for nuclear proliferation before discussing the particulars of the Brazilian and Argentinean examples. Brazil and Argentina, explains Redick, moved from distrusting each other about nuclear weapons to working closely together to monitor and control nuclear weapons. In the question and answer session, Redick addresses concerns about other Latin American nations and the effects the Brazil-Argentina agreement has on the strength of these governments.
