Former ghost writer discusses his remembrances of Richard Nixon -- his first association with him, his personality, distinguishing traits related to writing, and Nixon's philosophy on those surrounding him. He addresses also the history of Nixon's political career and his plans for becoming president, Nixon's reaction and actions related to Kennedy's assassination, the causes of secrecy in the Nixon White House, and the Nixon-Kennedy debates. He addresses in detail a question concerning a psychological analysis of Nixon, recounts anecdotal stories, the reason why Nixon taped his conversations, and Nixon's political recovery in the 1960s.
