This panel of experts give there three perspectives on China in the 1990s. Claude first relates his observations on China in his recent visit. He discusses how the society and country as a whole are becoming more open. Next Armitage gives his take on contemporary China. He comments on the use of bicycles in China, the role of religion, and the United Nations. Leng lastly addresses the economics of China. He comments on the possibility of an overheated economy and rampant corruption. During the questioning session the trio discusses rural poverty, U.N. Security Council expansion, pluralism in China, and Hong Kong.
